About Me

Too Curious To Leave Well Enough Alone

A cautionary tale about what happens when you give a queer person unsupervised access to a server rack.

Short Version

The bad ideas keep working, which is the problem. My partners have discussed an intervention but cannot agree on the terms. At least the house is warm.

What I Like Building

Most of what ends up here lives somewhere between useful and completely cursed: Proxmox hosts, network cleanup, internal DNS, tiny Docker jobs, 3D-printed mounts, little racks, odd hardware, and side projects that get dramatically more complicated the second I say "this should be simple."

Outside the rack, I like motorcycles, workshop projects, and building little devices that solve one annoying problem well enough to justify their own existence, which is also how I judge most software. I also desperately want to build a submersible ROV, and I already have plans for it. That particular future mistake is coming later.

Work Style

I like systems that still make sense at 1 AM when something is broken and I am the one fixing it in pajama pants. I do not want a site that sounds like a conference talk. I want one that sounds like actual shop notes written by a person who knows what they are doing and still thinks some of this is funny.
